Adipex (phentermine) is a drug that can be recommended if you are suffering from obesity and find it impossible or too hard to lose weight by simply dieting. Adipex is usually intended for short-term treatment – up to 6 weeks. Taking Adipex for longer is not recommended as this my cause unpleasant side effects and may not help you with losing weight. You will need to tell your doctor if you are currently using or are planning on using any other drugs besides Adipex, Although most medicines can be combined with Adipex, there are some that can’t, such as guanethidine, fluvoxamine, sertraline, paroxetine, insulin, MAO inhibitors, medications for weight loss and depression, vitamins, and fluoxetine. Please make sure you also report to your health care provider any other prescription or over-the-counter medications. Side effects are not uncommon but there is no need to report them to your health care provider unless they change in intensity and get particularly bothersome. The following side effects are considered to be mild: vomiting, unpleasant taste, constipation, dry mouth, and diarrhea. Please tell your doctor if you develop any side effects not listed above.
