“With great pleasure I have accepted the patronage of the 2nd International Charity Fashion Show organized by the American Protestant Church. This project has mobilized an amazing number of members of our international community, who are both donating and volunteering within the show. I am looking forward to see fashion from all over the world on May 16th – and I am excited by the idea, that the outcome will be a contribution to the future of children in four continents! So I would like to invite and encourage my esteemed readership to join the show, to enjoy a colorful variety of styles and cultures and to be generous in supporting children all over the world!”Bärbel Dieckmann, Mayor of Bonn and Patron of 2nd ICFS
ICFS Factsheet
On Saturday, May 16th, 2009, The American Protestant Church (APC) will be organizing our 2nd International Charity Fashion Show (ICFS) at the Beethovenhalle courtesy of World Conference Center. We invite you to be a part of ICFS as a sponsor. The theme of ICFS is “Kindness never goes out of style“. We all want to raise as much awareness and financial support as possible for the following:
- The Kinderklinik in Bonn: Its “Parents House” program enables families to stay together with their children during in-patient treatment for cancer and leukemia.
- St. Andrews Home in Chosica, Peru: cares for abandoned babies, neglected children from broken homes, and disabled and older orphans.
- Kinder in Chatterhat, India: offers housing, school education and job training for some 500 orphans and neglected children, the poorest of the poor in northeast India.
- The Soteni ‘Village of Hope’, Kenya: provides homes, schooling and a grass-roots community to support more than 8,000 children affected by the AIDS pandemic.
The Lady Mayor of the City of Bonn, Ms. Bärbel Dieckmann is our Patron (Schirmherrin) for this benevolent event. Mr. Bill Mockridge, founding comedian of Springmaus and Lindenstrasse fame, has generously agreed to donate his talents as the evening’s Master of Ceremony. Children and adult models and performers will come from volunteers involved with the United Nations, World Conference Center, Deutsche Welle, T-Mobile, the APC, the Bonn International School (BIS), the Independent Bonn International School (IBIS) and other schools and organizations in Bonn. Empowering children to help other children is what ICFS is all about.
Everyone involved will represent their country - from Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas. Please join us for live music, dancing, an enticing array of food samplings, items for sale and auctions in four village markets from these regions.
By being a sponsor of ICFS, your organization will enjoy significant visibility. We will recognize your business in promotional materials and offer you the opportunity to showcase your products and services during the event. All of the proceeds will go to the children, after covering the costs of the show. None of it will go to APC as event organizer.
Any form of support you might be able to offer would be deeply appreciated. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. On behalf of the children whom we seek to help, thank you for your consideration.
With warm regards,
Steve Gaultney
Senior Pastor, APC Bonn
